Isla Contadora
Located just a 1.5 hour ferry ride away from Panama City, Isla Contadora, most famous for the whale season from July to October has an interesting and luxurious history that’s tamed down significantly into a quiet and peaceful island. I was met on the beach by dive shop owners, Guillermo and Roxanna of Coral Dreams Diving who I had connected with prior to arriving. Their friendly faces were so welcoming and reminded me of how much I love the social side of the world wide dive community. They were also kind enough to drive me to my perfect little accommodations at Contadora Inn where I was totally taken care of by Manager Tony. In total, I did 6 dives with Coral Dreams Diving and enjoyed the wide abundance of marine life despite less than perfect visibility, which people say is the norm in the area. I experienced that swirling affect you get while swimming through a school of exquisite fish, not to mention a Zebra Moray Eel, White-tipped Reef Shark, and GIANT Parrot fish! I really loved this Pacific Ocean diving and loved the personal service provided by Coral Dreams especially eating a fresh oyster on the way back from the dive!
